Rich in art and architecture, Padova has many outstanding sights, among which the magnificent Cappella degli Scrovegni, famous for Giotto’s frescoes. The Baptistery, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, is a religious building found on the Piazza del Duomo, next to the cathedral: preserved inside is one of the most important fresco cycles of the 14th century, a masterpiece by Giusto de Menabuoi. The guided tour designed for the students to appreciate Padova’s most famous landmarks will also include a visit to the main premises of the University, Palazzo Bo, with its magnificent Aula Magna (Great Hall), the Anatomical Theatre and “the podium” used by Galileo itself.
