Verona is renown worldwide for its outstanding Roman amphitheatre, the Arena. Built in the first century, it is still in use today and is internationally famous for the large-scale opera performances given there. In Italy, this is certainly the place to experience opera, another outstanding Italian tradition.
Gioachino Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia is staged transforming the Roman Amphitheatre into the grand garden created by Hugo de Ana in 2007, enriched by Leda Lojodice’s fun choreography and characterized by the giant, evocative roses.
